Muscular dystrophy – treatment without pain and medicines

Duchenne muscular dystrophy is a state of muscle metabolism impairment that is caused by the presence of swelling between muscle fibers.
How it happens
The swelling appears because lymph is not able to eliminate the metabolic products of cells (waste products) from the intercellular space.
As a result of such activity the swelling is increased causing pressure on muscle cells from the outside. It moves the cells’ nuclei and mitochondria aside to the periphery.
These processes result in the increase of creatine phosphokinase level in the cells. This leads to the muscle’s inability to bind and retain creatine.
Creatine is essential for a mitochondrion to produce energy in a muscle cell.
The production of ATP (multipurpose source of energy) in mitochondria is decreased. ATP is the energy needed for functioning of motor proteins known under the names of actin and myosin. No energy – no movement in muscles.
As a result, inside a muscle fiber, being motionless because of the abovementioned processes, its own nutritive processes slow down.
The fiber membrane starts producing unnecessary for it without motion function enzymes and amino acids. That’s why the theory of “defective membranes” was formed.
These amino acids and enzymes are only needed during the muscle movement. For their synthesis energy is needed, which is absent. That’s why muscle weakness appears.
Muscle fiber atrophy starts.
Muscular dystrophy starts with the development of weakness and atrophy of certain group of muscles. As time goes (years are needed) the dystrophic process incorporates new groups of muscles. The process of “new muscles’ incorporation” continues till the complete patient’s immobility.
The principal sign of myodystrophy is muscle disorder in pelvic, pectoral girdle and torso of the patient. Pay attention, that femoral and shoulder muscles are only affected in severe forms of muscular dystrophy, as in case of my patient Emineh.
Myodystrophy can prevail on one side during the initial period of disease development. As the disease progresses the disorder becomes equal in the patient’s symmetric muscles. Over the years the muscle strength is decreased in all the muscles. Later the hypertrophic muscle loci appear in the body of a patient with muscular dystrophy or its other form. This is the pseudohypertrophy that is not connected with the increase of muscle fibers. It is associated with the swelling placed in the muscles of a leg or arm. Such muscles have compact structure but they are weak.
Let’s examine the clinical presentation of muscular dystrophy using the example of Dr. Nikonov’s patient Emineh. Weakness was the primary sign of Duchenne myopathy in the woman. She got very tired at long-term physical activity. Emineh’s first complaints:
Difficulties at ascending the stairs;
Fast exhaustion at running and extended walking;
The woman started to fall often;
Myalgia in legs appeared. In some cases it was accompanied by painful spasms;
With the course of time walking became difficult.
Sitting on a low chair, Emineh couldn’t get up off it without using her hands. She used to stand up with much difficulty and resorted to the use of auxiliary techniques. After a couple of years of muscular dystrophy progress the woman couldn’t get off her haunches without external assistance. She couldn’t climb the stairs any more.
After muscular dystrophy treatment my patient Emineh could go up to the 17th floor of an apartment building without using her hands! She kept on going down to the 1st floor in the elevator and going up to the 17th floor again. The woman was truly happy with this improvement of her state.
Muscle dystrophy is usually developed at pelvic girdle and thighs. That’s why the emendic treatment of the woman’s muscles was focused on the abovementioned sites.
